Update 1: Building an audience

So the project has been handed over to the team and they are off and running. Due to Christmas and New Years, we’ll be starting to post full articles, rather than my blog updates on Monday 5th January.

The initial stages of the content strategy for The Social Savior have been mapped out below, we’re going to start with some 6 part series which will walk our viewers through how to get the best out of the different social media channels.

While the content is being planned out our team lead, and editor and the writers are getting ready to begin, our social media executive for the project has started ‘audience building’. Due the holiday period she’ll be able to have 5 days on audience building completed before Jan 5th. So I’ll save the first update of how’s it’s all coming along at that point.

In the initial stages of audience building everyone is researching the niche, checking who the top influences are on the different social channels, following them, following their audiences, and sharing retweeting the top posts and articles. This will continue for a few weeks while we get our website content ready for posting, at which point we’ll be adding posting our content into the mix.

Initial audience building can be a little slow, but as time passes we’ll started to see hockey stick style growth, usually starting around the 3 month mark. That’s not to saw we won’t have very impressive growth right now the beginning, and this I will show on my 5th Jan update which will show 5 days of active ‘audience building’
