Hi, this is Keith from The Social Savior and in this video, I’m going to walk you through the process of setting up a “likes” campaign of your Facebook business page.

Now if you’ve already set up a business page you may have invited your friends to like it but without actively advertising it, you’re not going to get in front of your target audience. So let’s have a look at how to do that. So we’re going to start at, we’re going to business.facebook.com, now if you haven’t already signed up for an account at business.facebook.com, quickly do that first of all and once it’s done you’ll load up to this screen right here.

Now from this screen, we’re going to click on to Ads Manager on the left and because this is first time we’ve set up advertising campaign on this account, we’re going to click on create advert in the middle here. So the first screen we’re going to get is going to show us the different objectives for Facebook Advertising campaigns and in this case here, we’re going to choose promote your page.

We want to get more likes to the page, so we’re going to click on to that one. We’re going to choose our page and we’re going to leave the campaign name exactly how it is and click on to create add accounts. Now, because this is the first time we’ve set up an add on this account, it’s going to ask us the currency we’d like to use, choose your currency and then click set audience and budget.

With our first “likes” campaign we’re going to keep it really simple with our audience targeting and we’re going to choose exactly the audience that we’re after.

Now in this case, I’m creating a campaign for my Keith’s Sports Club which is a sports club in Melbourne, Australia. So, I’m going to close off Australia and I’m going to specifically choose Melbourne. Now I know my target age for the club is 18-34 so I’m going to choose that. All genders and I want English speakers because I’m going to be writing the advertisement in English.

Now for the detailed targeting, Facebook has had a guess at what they think would work, now in this case business and industry has nothing to do with my sports club, so I’m going to close off all these business and real estate options they’ve given us and I’m instead going to choose sports as an interest so people are interested in sports.

Once that’s done we can see here now there’s a million people in Melbourne who have these specific attributes. We’ve got people in Melbourne who are 18-34, who are male or female, who speak English and interested in sports. Connections we’re going to leave this as it is so we’re going to exclude people who already liked our page so they won’t see an advertisement to like our page when they already do. Budget, so we’re going to change this budget to $2.

Now in this first ad account we’re going to leave all the advance options how they are and we’re going straight to choose ad creative. Now when we come here, we’re going to click on this text box and we’re going to write a little advertisement to like our page. So in this case, I’m going to write, “Like our page for news and updates on sporting events around Melbourne”.

So we can see here, this is a sample of what our Ad would look like on Facebook on the desktop. If we click here, we can see how it will look like on mobile, and if we click here we can see what it looks like when it appears on the right hand side desktop.

Now in future videos, I’ll show you how to do a lot more advanced targeting with your Facebook advertisements but for right now we’re going to leave it exactly like this. We’re going to click on to place order and enter your credit card details. If this isn’t the first time you’ve created an advert in Facebook, you won’t see this screen and it will just be saved, otherwise enter in your credit card details, continue and that’s going to be all set up and ready to go.

That’s it for the video, thanks for watching.
