Hi, this is Keith from The Social Savior and in this video, I’m going to show you a couple of different ways to find interesting content to share with your audience.
So, first of all what I’m going to do is head over to business.facebook.com and I’m going to log-in to my business page. So, the page I’m working with right now is my sports club page and I want to find some content to share with my audience.
Now, one of the mistakes a lot of people make with their Facebook page is promoting their own business too often. You really want to have a mix of just offering value and sharing great content. Maybe that’s through articles or images or quotes, whatever you like.
In this video, we’re going to look at sharing other people’s content but we really want to find really good content that our audience is going to like. So, the first place we’re going to look for this content, is we’re going to go to a website called “Buzzsumo.com” and so for our sports page, I’m going to come here and maybe look for a soccer article. I’m going to search for the keyword “soccer.” This is going to show us what articles related to soccer have had the most social shares.
Now right now, this is in the past year, I might change this to the last week to see if we can find some content that’s a bit newer. Okay, so this looks like we might be able to share with our audience, it’s already had a lot of people share the content. So, people who are interested in soccer they’re very likely to be interested in this article. So Buzzsumo is the way that we found that article.
I want to show you one other way that we can look for content to share with our audience.
We’re going to go to “news.google.com” for this. Okay, so “news.google.com”, I’m going to search for soccer again and this is going to show us that soccer has been in the news recently. So, this is going to be a good way to find some really new content that we might be able to share with our audience before a lot of other people have.
This one here could be a little bit controversial as well which could mean we get more likes, comments, and shares on the article and a greater reach. So, let’s use this one.
So I’ve copied that URL and I’m going back over to my page, when I click into the share box I’m going to paste that URL, so right click and paste. Now once the URL is in there, we can actually delete that URL back out and the article is going to stay there.
Now, with an article like this, we could keep it really simple and say “What do you think?” Now also, if we are going to do a few at once, so let’s say, it’s later in the afternoon and we want to post this tomorrow morning instead. We can just click on to this little drop down, click schedule and say we want to post this tomorrow at 10:34 am and click schedule. So that post is now scheduled to post tomorrow morning.
So I click on to see post here, so we got this one queued here, “What do you think?”, I’m going to click on to that and it’s going to show us what it’s going to look like when it does post. So obviously we could write a lot more in our comments right there but basically we’re sharing that content and it might be something that our audience is both interested in and might be willing to comment on which is going to bring our page in front a much larger audience.
Okay, I’m going to leave this video at this point, thanks for watching.
