Hi, this is Keith from The Social Savior and in this video I’m going to walk you through the process of setting up a Facebook page for your business. To do this, the first thing we’re going to do is we’re going to go business.facebook.com. Now, if you haven’t already set up an account at business.facebook.com, quickly sign up for that first and then once you do, you’ll land on this page right here.

Now to add a page from the business manager we’re going to click add new on the left hand side and then pages. Now, here we need to choose a category for our business. Most likely it’s going to be one of these first two right here. Either a local business or place or a company organization or institution.

Let’s have a look at these, if I click on to local business or place, you can see here it will ask for a page name, a category for our business and then an address for our business. So, if you have a local business that people can walk in and buy products from you at the location, this is the one that you want to use. If you have a large business that doesn’t accept walk-ins or an e-commerce store, most likely you’re going to use company organization or institution. Click on to this one and this is the one I’m going to use right here.

I’m going to enter my page name and I’m going to choose a category for my business. In this case I’m just going to choose company and create page. This will take just a second, now once this is done, we’re going to want to click on to the name of our business manager account up here, and you can see mine is called: Keith Sample Business. We’re going to click that and this is going to take us to the screen where we can see the name of all our pages.

So here we can see my new sports club page and I’m going to click on the use page right here. Now, to finalise the setup of this account, I’m going to type a little bit about our new page, write something descriptive about your business, next click on to the profile picture. If you have a logo for your business handy, you can upload photo from your computer right now, otherwise you can also click on to import from website and then Facebook’s going to scan your website and look for images that you could use for that logo right there. I’m going to skip this for right now, I’m going to go straight to preferred audience.

Now, recently Facebook’s given us the opportunity to choose our demographic for our page. This means when we’re sharing things, people within this audience are more likely to see our posts. If you’ve got a very wide demographic, you can leave this, just skip it altogether but if you know, like in my case here I’m setting up a sports club, I’m going to say my sports club is here in Melbourne, Australia where I am right now and I already know that my age demographics are up until 34 years old, both genders and interest in sport and that’s it. So, I’m going to save that.

Alright, so we’re on our new Facebook business page, I’m going to close this little getting around pop-up and at this stage I’m going to choose a logo and the image for the background. So, I’m going to go, add photo, upload photo and choose this soccer ball that I found earlier and for the background I’m going to choose this little add a cover option right here, upload photo and I’m going to choose the image I found earlier. Now, if you don’t have something you could use for your cover image, it may be worth contacting a graphic designer and getting something made just for your business.

You want your Facebook page to look really good so that’s a good idea to do that and now that we’ve done that, I’m going to save changes. That’s it, we’ve got a page set up. Those images we’ve added as our logo and cover have come down as posts and we’re all ready to go. So in the next videos, I’m going to show you how to promote your page, how to add content, how to find content and lots more things but this one we’re going to leave right here.
